Flower.Com is a lot smaller than 1-800-Flowers.com. This is a good thing because it also means they are a lot more likely to have the more generic flowers in stock around busy holidays such as Valentines Day.

Based out of Los Angeles, Flower.com, has been around for 9 years and has the largest selection of Local Florists in the world. What many people don't know is that Flower.com doesn't actually have flowers, what they do is make it incredibly easy for you to interface with your local florist and order what you want. From personal experience I would much prefer to give my Credit information to Flower.com, who has a secure ordering system, rather than a local cat lady who happens to work at the Florist.

Flower.com also has a lot of flower care information on their website, more than any of their competitors. To me this conveys a feeling that they truly care about the customers and would like them to get the maximum enjoyment out of any order they place.

For Valentines Day 1-800-Flowers.com offers buyers to purchase one dozen roses, and receive one dozen roses for free. On top of this they give you a free vase, with most other services this cost is hidden.

1-800-Flowers.com, like most other online florists, recognizes that sometimes you forget about a birthday or a special loved one and need to have flowers delivered to them the same day. Same day shipping is available.

If flowers aren't your thing, or you would like to combine a couple of orders through one service I would definitely recommend 1-800-Flowers.com. Their gift basket selection makes it possible to find something for your favorite woman in your life, and your son all from the same place.
